Road Scholar: Dr. Eugenie Clark — The Shark Lady


Celebrate the 104th birthday of Dr. Eugenie Clark, The Shark Lady, on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. ET / 10:00 a.m. PT.

Join us for a one-hour live online lecture and Q&A exploring her remarkable life, groundbreaking research, and lasting legacy.

We will highlight Clark’s pioneering fieldwork, her early efforts to establish Cape Haze Marine Laboratory, and her enduring influence on the growth of Mote Marine Laboratory & Aquarium.

In honor of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, this lecture also recognizes Dr. Clark as a pioneering Japanese American scientist and educator whose work continues to inspire new generations of shark researchers.

This lecture is the first in a three-part series presented through Road Scholar.
