New SEA Me Read - Next Time You See a Pill Bug



Crawl into a STEM storybook about roly-polies, investigate invertebrates, and meet their crustacean cousins.

We’re excited to introduce a brand-new addition to our SEA Me Read series: Next Time You See a Pill Bug, from NSTA Kids and written by Emily Morgan.

This live, virtual program is perfect for elementary classes, homeschoolers, and libraries that want to connect literacy, life science, and curiosity in one engaging experience.


🪲 What Happens During the Program?

This 30–45 minute lesson is designed for grades K–4 (ages 6–9) and blends storytelling, science, and student interaction.

  • A read-aloud of Next Time You See a Pill Bug
  • A close-up look at live invertebrates, including pill bugs, crabs, and shrimp
  • An interactive science segment focused on crustaceans and adaptations
  • A live Q&A session with a Mote educator

💡 No prep required. Just bring your questions and the optional bingo sheet!
